8 Skincare Lies Western Beauty Told Us — A Model’s Shocking Lessons from Asia
No gatekeeping here…
I’m exposing ALL my biggest skincare mistakes that I made since I was 17
As a model, beauty columnist, and writer living in Asia
I’ve learned SO much that I never would have learned before
Especially if I listened to Western dermatologists and if I continued to live in the UK
Most American women DON’T have access to this wealth of information [almost all — even top celebrities that reach out to me]!
But I was super fortunate to live in Asia for decades to learn all this
And realize that many things we are taught to do as young women
Are actually aging women faster than we need to!
And that is why men appear to age slower!
So here are the BIGGEST + most shocking lessons I learned after I moved to Asia:
AVOID retinol
AVOID washing your face twice per day
AVOID sunscreen
AVOID iced drinks
AVOID organic juicing
AVOID “anti-aging” products like the plague
AVOID negative people
AVOID Western dermatologists
Somehow, the things I NEVER thought would work
Things I thought were just nonsensical talk
Made my skin SO much better, including:
1. Hydroxytyrosol
2. Olive oil
3. Snow fungus soup
I couldn’t help but wonder
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS WOO??
But it worked!
Now I strongly believe MORE women need to know this
It will only help them REVERSE their biological age!
👇 Ladies, say your biggest skincare mistake in the comments below so others don’t make the same!

About Kelly Prehn
Kelly's journey began unexpectedly when a Models 1 agent spotted her in Covent Garden during a ballet rehearsal. Despite landing a six-figure Japanese contract immediately, upon arrival in Tokyo she was deemed 'overweight', fired and sent back to London.
Her breakthrough came when Mr. Shu of Shu Uemura recognized her potential, launching her acclaimed career as a beauty and fashion model across Asia—from Japan and Korea to China and Singapore.
Leveraging her industry expertise, Kelly transitioned from modeling to sharing beauty insights as a columnist, becoming a highly recognized advocate for niche traditional wellness and healing modalities. She was the first to bring these transformative practices to a wider audience. Her influence grows rapidly: 1.4 million books in print, tens of millions of women reached through her teachings on social media, she currently impacts 11 million women monthly—and growing.
